GPRN/NSCN conducts all regional authorities meeting

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 4 (MExN): GPRN/NSCN, through the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, called a meeting of all Regional Authorities at its Designated Camp on January 30. The objective of the meeting was to engage regional authorities on the broader political and social responsibilities as Naga National Workers. Eighteen Regional Administrative Officers (RAO’s) along with their region Secretaries attended the meeting. Four other regions deputed two delegates each to the meeting. This was informed in a press note issued by Ghukiho T Jimo, Kilo Secretary, through the MIP. 

Kilo Kilonser Hothrong Yimchunger extended New Year greetings and briefed the gathering on the possible political and administrative reforms GPRN/NSCN will undertake in the current year. He explained to the members that the cause of the Naga Nation is much richer than the enforced Indian elections. Authorities were cautioned against using and tarnishing the image of GPRN/NSCN during elections in their respective regions. He urged the region authorities to pay more attention to defending political right of the Naga. Chaplee Kilonser Jack Jimomi explained the need to be responsible, honest and transparent in handling government money. He expressed that Naga Political issue is mandated by people therefore what Naga people donate to the movement must be responsibly utilized in defending the Cause. He urged that financial policy of the centre must be strictly observed by the regional authorities. 

It was resolved that in order to preserve the rich flora and fauna, all regions agreed to strictly enforce ban on Jungle burning and killing of wild animals in their respective regions. The meeting also resolved to strengthen the leadership of President Gen. (Retd.) Khole Konyak and Ato Kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi, so that a political dialogue between the Government of India (GOI) and GPRN/NSCN could begin, paving the way for a practical political settlement acceptable to the Naga people.
