
Dimapur, May 23 (MExN): The “GPRN/NSCN” has charged the NSCN (IM) of killing one Kusheta Venuh, a leacy, son of a late S Venuh of Kizari village. Stating him to be a “Chakhesang national worker,” a note from the outfit’s ‘publicity cell’ said Venuh was tortured and battered to death on the night of April 27, the very day he was “arrested.” He was “arrested” along with one “Sgt. Maj.” Vedukhoyi Vero son of a Late Murhanyi of Chepoketa village and another friend a Seto Chakhesang, son of one Ashito of Khuza village under Chakhesang region, the note said. “They were taken to Hebron Camp at gunpoint. The barbaric torture and subsequent death of GPRN/NSCN official late Kusheta Venuh has been confirmed beyond doubt. The perpetrators of the crime continue to falsely inform the families that the detainees are all alive. The conditions of other detainees are believed to be critical too” the ‘publicity cell’ note said. Terming it to be “too apparent” the “gross violation of human rights by IM cadres,” the outfit said the “latest custodial death of a GPRN/NSCN official will not go unchallenged”. The group also questioned what it called “the silence of NPMHR and other Naga civil societies for failing to perform their bounden duties”.
