The GPRN/NSCN’s Chakhesang region today said that the general secretary of NSCN/GPRN Th. Muivah, currently camping at Viswema village was making a proposal to camp at Pfutsero under the shelter of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC). This cannot be accepted in whatsoever manner, Chipoyi, chairman of GPRN/NSCN Chakhesang region stated.
It is shameful on the part of Muivah to approach the CBCC, the group’s source said. The assault and harassment of Rev. K Luruo, the then field director of CBCC some time ago by a ‘constable in Muivah’s functionaries’ in his residential compound at Pfutsero Mission Centre “has yet to be apologized for or compromised till date,” the chairman said.
The chairman also clarified “we had no objection on Muivah’s propose visit to his native village nor it was none of our business to interfere; however our statement is specifically opposed to Muivah’s entry into the Chakhesang areas in any form.” The chairman further said it was a tragedy such as the one on May 6 at Mao Gate where 2 two students were killed and many injured by Manipur police commandoes.
The ‘Quit Notice’ served to the Tangkhul some decade ago has not been revoked neither a compromise on it till date, sources revealed. On the Quit Notice served to the Tangkhuls the GPRN/NSCN in the Chakhesang region said it was neither intended to create enmity nor to undermine the Tangkhul community.
However the very notice was served following the murder of Lt. Gen. PD Soho a decade ago while he was ‘attending water field along with his family in Phek’.
The GPRN/NSCN Chakhesang Region also clarified, ‘we had no objection on Muivah propose visit to his native village nor it was none of our business to interfere’ however our statement specifically oppose of Muivah entry into the Chakhesang areas in any form.
It further reminded that if Muivah wishes to enter the land of the Chakhesang, he should ‘come along with late Lt. Gen. PD Soho and if Lt. Gen. PD Soho could revoke the notice, the entire Chakhesang people would say “Amen.”
The chairman stated and urged Muivah to refrain from planning the trip to avoid confrontation. Asserting this to the Chakhesang frontal organizations, the GPRN/NSCN of the region wished that ‘blood battle’ does not take place in the land of the Chakhesangs.
