Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has questioned “the motive and intention” the “recent persistent and provocative act of the Lotha Region’s cadres of NSCN (IM).”
The GPRN/NSCN in a press release issued through its MIP stated that on March 23 at around 4:30 pm, a Secretary of GPRN/NSCN along with three of his staffs were nabbed by the Lotha Region cadres of NSCN (IM) from Yanmhon village area under Bhandari sub-division with an allegation of interfering in their financial jurisdiction. However, with the intervention of Yanmhon Area Lotha Hoho and Village council, the four GPRN members were released in later hours only.
On March 30 at around 8:40 pm, Wobenthung, Khapur was taken away from his home without any reason and released on March 31 only after torturing him in a most inhumane way the whole night at their office at Veterinary Colony, Wokha town, it reported. ‘Again, on March 31, three NSCN (IM) cadres of Lotha Region were on a spree to nab the GPRN/NSCN Lotha Region Commander who was on leave to be with his family,’ it alleged.
The MIP said that while GPRN/NSCN along with the whole Naga people are conscientiously looking forward to maintaining peace and order in the society and pursuing for peaceful coexistence and inculcate understanding amidst the myriad elements of misunderstandings and enmity among the NPGs and society alike, such “offensive and vexed activities of the Lotha region of NSCN (IM) towards their own blood brethren in their own land is most uncalled-for and disdainful for the Lotha community in general.”
The apparent intent of jeopardizing the peaceful efforts of the area people and testing the restraint of GPRN/NSCN deserves to be condemned by everyone including concern community leaders and society, it stated. “One cannot proclaim to champion for the Naga cause and on one hand indulge in to create antagonistic atmosphere and extremity upon its people. Therefore, it is appropriate that Lotha Region of NSCN (IM) comes into sense with the ongoing realities and refrain from the mistake of conducting such detrimental acts which would yield best for the benefit and interest of everyone in the region,” GPRN/NSCN added.
