‘GPRN\NSCN’ releases 5 NNC cadres

Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): Said to be a gesture of goodwill, five cadres purportedly of the NNC (“non-accordist”) group and detained at Khehoi by the “GPRN/NSCN”, were released on Thursday, May 28. They were ‘arrested’ by the outfit from Dimapur on April 30 for being involved in trying to “organize a third anti-national party under the name and style of the NNC (Non Accordist)” it was informed.

“GPRN/NSCN” secretary in-charge of ‘publicity cell’, Ghukiho Zhimomi briefing media persons at Khehoi asserted “the Naga army were forced to arrest” the five detainees for indulging in what was called “anti-national activities” and carrying out extortion activities in Dimapur under the banner of the NNC (“non-accordist”). They were being released he said “taking into consideration the benevolence” of the “government”. 

He however cautioned the released cadres against “committing the mistake again” as a penalty no less than “capital punishment” would befall them if they are caught indulging again.

Prior to their release the detainees were made to sign a ‘bond; in the presence of top “NSCN\GPRN” functionaries and family members. The five released persons were identified as one Tokuho, son of a late Heshito of Satakha village, an Abel, son of a Hutozhe of Viyixe village, one Avika, son of a Xushepu of Sapotimi village, a Kheghoto son of one Ikuto of Sema Settsu village and a Nitoyi, son of one Ghoito of Viyixe village all hailing from Zunheboto district. 

It was also informed that a hand-grenade and a country-made pistol were recovered and confiscated from their possession. Besides ID cards, seal stamps, demand slips and some incriminating documents said to be belonging to the NNC (“non-accordist”) group were also found from them.
