Phek, February 24 (DIPR): The newly constructed building of Government Primary School at new colony Phek town was inaugurated on February 21 with Phek sub-divisional education officer, Vamu Lohe as the chief guest.
Acknowledging that the school building was constructed with the active participation and tireless effort of the colony leaders, the chief guest called upon to play equal roles in bringing up the children by imparting all round development. He also thanked the land donors for their gesture in constructing the school building with their generous support.
Reminding that parents and teachers play the most important role in a child’s life, he urged them to be devoted in their duties. Noting the importance given by the government in the education sector, he said that equipment and infrastructure could be accommodated if people extend cooperation. The chief guest further called upon the people to make best use of the existing infrastructures for better development.
Shevozo, in charge of SSA under Phek Block also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the aims and objectives of SSA, which assures compulsory education for children between the ages of 6-14 years and also emphasized on community participation.
Earlier, invocation prayer was pronounced by teacher in-charge of Government Primary School Vehucho Rhakho, and vote of thanks was proposed by District Evaluation Officer, Phek, Shevolhu Nyekha. Public leaders and students attended the function.
