
Dimapur, November 22 (MExN): The Geological Survey of India (GSI), State Unit: Manipur-Nagaland, Dimapur has conducted ‘Bhuvisamvad’, an initiative of Ministry of Mines, Government of India at Patkai Christian College (PCC) on November 21.
A press release from the Director, GSI, JK Angami stated that PV Ramana Murthy, Deputy Director General, GSI, Dimapur apprised the faculties and students of the Department of Geology, Patkai Christian College (PCC), Dimapur on the significance of ‘Bhuvisamvad’ as a platform to facilitate interaction among the Geoscience fraternities to exchange ideas and to address the prevailing geological challenges in the state of Nagaland and Manipur. JK Angami, Director, GSI highlighted various on-going geological activities in Nagaland and Manipur.
Dr Wati Imchen, Senior Geologist spoke on the fundamentals of topographic sheet reading and its numbering scheme, a prerequisite for students pursuing studies in Earth Science.
The programme was attended by the faculties and students of Dept. of Geology, PCC. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks extended by Dr Thokchom Devala Devi, Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of Geology, PCC.
