Kohima, November 23 (MExN): The Central GST Commissionerate, Dimapur conducted a taxpayers outreach programme on Sabka Vishwas Scheme (SVS) and the New GST Return at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on November 22.
In the first session, a presentation was made on Sabka Vishwas (Legacy Dispute Resolution) Scheme 2019 which offers a golden opportunity to taxpayers for closing their pending disputes relating to previous service tax and central excise cases that are now subsumed under GST, a press release from L Krelo, Assistant Commissioner, GST stated.
This scheme was introduced by the Union Finance Minister in Budget 2019 and closes on December 31, 2019. In the second session a presentation was made on the New GST Returns which was likely to be introduced by the Government in the next financial year. The changes and benefits of the new returns were discussed during the session.
All tax payers were also encouraged to use the New Returns Trial version tool which is already available online on the GST portal so that they may familiarize themselves with the new format before it is launched next year.
The release informed that a similar outreach programme is scheduled for taxpayers in Mokokchung on November 25, 12:00 pm at Hotel Whispering Winds. All taxpayers are invited to attend.
