
Kohima, April 30 (MExN): The Municipal Affairs Department, Government of Nagaland as precautionary and preventive measure to contain spread of COVID-19 pandemic has directed all the Administrators of Urban Local Bodies in the State to disseminate the guidelines to the food and catering service operators under their respective jurisdictions for compliance and necessary action.
The guidelines for food and catering service operators during COVID-19 pandemic are:
• Clean and disinfect the food service area after every meal is prepared. Disinfect high contact points such as door knobs, equipments handle etc repeatedly.
• Disinfect high contact points such as working counters, door mobs, equipment handles, billing counter, card machines etc repeatedly.
• Make hand washing and sanitization facility at the entry of the retail store.
• Food handlers must use tongs, gloves or other utensils to prevent contact with food.
• Food handlers must wear clean uniform, gloves, mask or face cover and head covers.
• Wash all food items thoroughly with clean, potable water. Use 5Oppm chlorine with clean potable water for fruits and vegetables to be consumed raw.
• Promote hand hygiene and maintain social distancing among the staff. 8. Encourage pre-ordering of food on line or over telephone to reduce waiting time. Establish designated pick up zones for customers to maintain social distancing (Minimum 1 meter gap).
• Avoid eating and sale of pets or wild animals for human consumption.
• Maintenance of hygienic and disinfected storage facilities for food items.
• Ensure strict compliance of advisories, directives and SoPs issued by the Government as a precaution, measure.
