
Pughoboto, September 13 (MExN): A Half-Marathon race under the Systemic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme of the ECI was organised by the DEO Pughoboto at Ghathashi town on September 13, with participation from the citizens of Gathashi town as well as neighbouring villages.
A DIPR report stated that the Sr. men category winners were: 1st-Vitoho from Mukalimi village, 2nd-Boskha from Mukalimi, and 3rd-Vikashe from Mukalimi village. In Sr. Women category, Helito from Iphonu Village was the winner while the 2nd and 3rd place went respectively to Lovini from Iphonuand Mishili from Iphonu village.
In Junior Boys category, Kumsuto from Ghatashi town bagged the 1st prize while Vipito from Iphonu village and Viyeto from Ghatashi village were placed second and third respectiely. In the junior girl category, the 1st position was bagged by Linovi from Ghatashi village, 2nd-Helivi from Heboli village and the 3rd went to Nishebo from Mukali.
SDO Civil Pughoboto, Tiayanger Jamir, who is also the SVEEP nodal officer, appealed to the participants and the people of Ghatashi area to value their votes as a it can bring change in the society. "Do not participate to win the competition but participate to convey the message of my vote, my right, my responsibility," he stated. He also noted that the message should be implemented by the voters by coming out and voting in all the democratic election so that India democracy can grow into a healthy, informed democracy.
