Health workers sensitised on IIHP in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, March 18 (MExN): A three-day ‘hands on training’ on Integrated Health Information Platform (IIHP) was conducted at the Conference Hall of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office, Mokokchung from March 16-18. The resource persons for the training were Dr Tiasunep, DVBO/DSO; Dr Akumtemjen, Epidemiologist; Bendangtemsu, DPM; and Toshimeren, BPM.

The trainees were comprised of Specialist Medical Officers (SMO);Medical Officers (MOs); Community Health Officers (CHOs); Office Assistants from Community and Public Health Centres; and Block Program Managers (BPMs) along with Pharmacists and Lab Technicians from all blocks of Mokokchung District.

Further training for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) will be conducted on March 19 at block level by MOs, informed a press release from CMO Office, Mokokchung.

What is IHIP?
The IHIP, set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), is a web based near real-time information system to provide state of the art single operating picture with geospatial information for managing disease outbreaks and related resources, the release said.

Some of the key features of IHIP are real time data reporting through the use of mobile application accessible at village, state and the central levels; Geo-tagging of reporting health facilities; advanced data modeling; and analytical tools etc.

The primary objective of the platform is to enable better continuity of care, secure and confidential health data/records management, better diagnosis of diseases, reduction in patient re-visits and even prevention of medical errors, the release said.

Further, it aims to provide better affordability, optimal information exchange to support better health outcome and better decision support system eventually facilitating improvement in the reforms of treatment and care of public health at National-Level, it added.
