Kiphire | May 28 : A one day training on Saakshar Bharat for Block and Village level was held today at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire with more than 200 participant from Kkphire district attended the programme. Speaking on the topic of Shaakshar Bhatar which it means “Literate India”, Prantosh Datta Director SRC Tripura said, ‘women participation is the most important in every society in order to shape up the future’. He also said, The program was officially launch on September 8, 2009 by the Prime Minister of India where 365 District in India has being selected for this program with the main objective to uplift the poor socioeconomic life of the illiterate people age group of 15 and above, also added Tuensang and Mon District in Nagaland is also among these selected district.
According to the survey 109000 illiterate has being recorded in Kiphire, Longleng and Tuensang of Nagaland he added. Datta also shared on the components of the Shaakshar Bhatar where Functional Literacy, Basic education, Vocational and Skill development and continuing education in Village and Block level are the main objectives. Village Councils should take the main role to initiate this program where they can administer the whole village as Saakshar Bharat is a programme to uplift the rural people.
Earlier the programme was chaired by A.Rangkhaba Co-ordinator DLMA Kiphire, welcome address by Imnatula DEO Kiphire. The program was followed by a healthy discussion.
