Hindi teachers unpaid for 4 months; demand early payment

Kohima, April 12 (MExN): The 1379 Hindi Teachers appointed under Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) 2012-13 have not received their salaries for the last four months (December 2015 to March 2016). Informing this in a press release, the All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) stated that due to the nonpayment of the salaries, the teachers are facing lots of financial hardships to maintain their family and their children’s education.

“As Hindi is a technical subject and many teachers are posted in the remote areas of Nagaland, they (the teachers) don’t even have any source for transportation,” the release issued by ANHTU General Secretary AS Yarthotngam said. In light of this, ANHTU has requested the Government of Nagaland and Director of School Education to look into the matter seriously and release the pending salaries as early as possible.
