DIMAPUR, DEC 8 (MExN): An emergency meeting of the Naga Hoho executive was held today in its office chamber to specifically deliberate on the assault meted out to one of its officials vis-à-vis allegation and rebuttal through media from different underground groups.
“Naga Hoho remonstrates in its fullest term that in no way the Hoho subsists according to the diktat of any group/ faction and reiterates our strong commitment towards solving Indo-Naga political problem based on clarity of principle and the bottom line of the Naga people’s aspiration for political settlement”, stated a press communiqué issued by P Chuba Ozukum, I & P Secretary, Naga Hoho.
Clearly pointing out that the Naga Hoho in its earlier statement had appealed to the law enforcing agency in the state to book the culprit and “therefore the question of recognizing some gangsters and to protect the so called “benefactors” by Mr Keviletuo Kiewhuo, (Vice President Naga Hoho) does not arise, in fact, Naga Hoho including the Vice President were enlightened only through the media”.
While extending appreciation for taking into custody of Mr Jacob by NSCN (IM), the Naga Hoho also expresses reservation over the statement issued by MIP, GPRN/NSCN (IM) as to why they are still unable to apprehend the accomplice of Jacob and that the statement is short of evidence to deny that Jacob’s co-conspirator is not from IM group even before tracing out the accused.
Naga Hoho demanded of the concerned authority to award befitting punishment to the miscreant and to apprehend the accomplice without delay and intimate the Hoho office over the entire episode in the interest of all peace-loving citizens.
In the backdrop of what it termed as “volatile state of affairs particularly in Kohima at a point where the entire populace are about to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with dear and near ones, the Naga Hoho once again earnestly requested irrespective of political affiliation to preserve the sanctity of festive season and shun violence in any manner. “Naga Hoho wishes every Naga inhabitant a merry Christmas and a fulfilling New Year”, it stated.
