Homeopathic treatment centre comes to Dimapur

DIMAPUR, NOV 9 (DIPR): A homeopathic centre, (Department of AYUSH), Dimapur unit was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur KN  Ngullie at Bank Colony on today.

Speaking at the function, Ngullie said that human beings have myriad problems and diseases which are caused by various factors. With the changing of time, diseases affect human beings but the system of treatment is improving both through Allopathic and Homeopathic treatment. He expressed the hope that with the opening of the centre the citizens of Dimapur as well as those from outside the district would avail the facilities. 

Ngullie also said that the Government opens many medical care centres throughout the state and it is up to the officers and staff to maintain them properly for the benefit of the common people. Quoting ‘Service to man is service to God’ he appealed to the responsible employees to treat the patients with care.

The Chief Medical Officer (CS) Dimapur, Dr. T. Kikon, who was the guest of honour said that the principle of homeopathy was discovered by a German scientist in 1796. Homeopathy is based on the natural law of healing which means ‘likes cures by like’. In India homeopathy was introduced in 1839 by Dr. John Martin.

Medical Officer in-charge of Homeo-Treatment Centre, Dimapur said that this centre is the first of its kind having both indoor (IDP) 6 bedded and outdoor (OPD) facilities. The Government of India is giving a lot of importance to this system of medicine which  comes under the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy) in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They are promoting and upgrading this system of medicine by setting up AYUSH Health Units in every district of the state. The department is also a part of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), he said.

Later, a training session for para-medical staff for treatment of common ailments, management of common diseases and direction for use of homeopathic medicines  was conducted .
