DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 29 (MExN): With the up-gradation of Noklak Sub-Division to a District Headquarter, the Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) on Friday espoused hope that the State Government would usher in all round development and take necessary measures for socio-economic uplift benefiting the people of Khiamniungan both within India and from Myanmar and the Naga’s in general inconsonance with the ‘Act East Policy’.
Conveying its heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Nagaland for upgrading Noklak to a District Headquarter, the KSU in a press release issued by president P Hatho and general secretary Puthai T stated that the aspiration of the Khiamniungan people both within India and Myanmar has finally come true.
For this, the KSU has expressed profound appreciation to Chief Minister TR Zeliang and his Council of Ministers; Legislative Members for their able and visionary leadership in fulfilling the long cherish dreams of Khiamniungan community.
It termed the up-gradation of Noklak Sub-Division to District Headquarter is a historic moment which would be “written down in the hearts of all the Khiamniungan’s both for now and then.”
The KSU also extended its sincere gratitude to all the State Government bureaucrats headed by the Chief Secretary, tribal organization leaders, public leaders and all other individuals for their valuable advices and assistance in upgrading Noklak as District Headquarter.
The Union further extended its appreciation and gratitude to Noklak District Demand Committee (NDDC), Khiamniungan Tribal Council and all frontal organizations, and village councils for all the sacrifices undertaken in leading the Khiamniungan public towards a new era of hope and development.
