Hornbill fest registers huge turnout of tourists

This year edition of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland registered a huge turn out of both foreign and domestic tourists. The tourists are mostly from England, Poland, Israel, Japan, Thailand, US, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Hawai, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos.
Parliamentary secretary for tourism and law & justice Yitachu today expressed happiness at the increase in the inflow of tourists visiting the state during the ongoing Hornbill Festival of Nagaland.
He, however, revealed that the state could hardly absorb 20 to 30 percent of the tourists who want to visit the state due to lack of accommodations.
He stated that the response to the Hornbill festival was very good this year but the state could hardly absorb 20 to 30 percent of the tourists who expressed desires to come to the state despite there was an increased of 30 to 40% in accommodation this year through private players.
Yitachu stated that there was a huge turnout of tourists both foreign and domestic tourists recorded at the Hornbill festival over the last three days. Altogether 149 foreign and 1241 domestic tourists were registered on the first day, 120 foreign and 985 domestic tourists on the second day against 20,000 local visitors on the first day and local 17,000 visitors on the second day.
