The 10-day annual Hornbill Festival will be 7-day affairs from next year. The government has decided to celebrate the festival for only 7 days starting from December 1 next year, Nagaland Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism C. Apok Jamir told the media persons here. During a review meeting in October 31, the government had mooted the idea but no definite decision was taken then. Jamir also expressed happiness over the huge turn-out of tourists to this year as a ‘good sign.’ On prevalence of high rate of items at the Festival, he said from next year there should be uniformity of rate, which is affordable. There are rooms for improvement in overall management, he added.
