Hornbill Glocal Film Fest 2011 inaugurated

The much awaited Hornbill Glocal Film Fest 2011 was launched today by Abu Metha, press Secretary for Chief Minister Nagaland, at The Heritage (Old DC Bungalow) Kohima this morning.
A producer and Director of “Man, Tiger and Spirit”- a Naga folktale based on Angami tribe, by Tara Douglas of United Kingdom Secretary Adivasi Art Trust, Central India, Naga Headhunter’s production: “Puliebadze”, and Mystical Grass, a production of Moa and Aren of Abiogeneses was screened at the premiered.
Addressing the gatherings, Abu encouraged the filmmakers stating that Government of Nagaland is promoting the young Naga talented artist in many fields on finding the skills of the youths.
He said Nagas were in turmoil, insurgency, instability of government in earlier days however, besides this the skilled youths have given the silver linings through their efforts that convinced the government thereby initiative has been put forth to let the artist achieve their highest dream.
Abu urged upon the artist, musicians, filmmakers, painters and other artist to catch the movie of the Nagas to save for the future generations.
Also the press secretary has conveyed the tourist present to be an ambassador for the Nagas.
General Manager National Film Development Corporation (NDFC), Kayina highlighted the facilities and opportunities of NDFC and urged the filmmakers to avail the opportunities.
She also urged the Nagaland state government to send Naga delegates to the Film bazaar event held annually.
The programme was organized by rattle & Hum Society in collaboration with the department of Tourism, Nagaland.
