DIMAPUR, APRIL 27 (MExN): A three-day ‘Crash Course on Live Sound Management started on Wednesday, April 27 at Crescendo, Circular Road, Dimapur. It was organised by Crescendo and sponsored by the Music Task Force (MTF), Nagaland. Fifty-three youths from Dimapur responded with enthusiasm to take part in the workshop.
Project Director of the MTF, Gugs Chishi graced the inaugural today as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Chishi while appreciating the positive response from the participants urged them to take advantage of their interests and take it to the next level. “Learning is something that is endless”, he said and added: “People like you should start building up on your interests.”
Dwelling on the significance of sound management, particularly in music, he said that how an artiste sounds will ultimately depend on the competence of the audio engineer or soundman, notwithstanding the talent of the performer. “A musician can only sound good, only when the people handling the sound equipment manage it well.” “Today you are trainees, tomorrow you’ll be instructors yourself. It depends on how receptive you are.”
Aka Jamir, consultant engineer of Crescendo is the resource person for the duration of the training. On this Chishi averred that today one need not go out of the state to avail such training, since the state have the human resource with expertise in the field.  Jamir had received technical training from the School of Audio Engineering, Mumbai.
