Huruotsumia brethren converge for history

Keunuora/Poilwa, Jan 7 (MExN): In a memorable and eventful occasion, hundreds of young and old belonging to Huruotsumia clans of upper L Khel, Kohima village had a get-together by merry-making and feasting with the Hausum Khel of Poilwa village at Poilwa on Saturday. 

Local history say the forefathers of Huruotsumia migrated from Poilwa village to Kohima village and thus the two, Huruotsumia and Hausum Khel, still maintain a brotherly relationship as during their forefathers’ days even.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Planning and Urban development, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, saying the forefathers of Huruotsumia clan came from Kenuora (Poilwa), said a committee has been set up to further delve and research the history of this matter.

Earlier, representing Huruotsumia clans, Vikielie Sorhie and Huruotsumia Union President, Lhouvitsü Kesiezie stressed the need to maintain better and cordial relationship to bring about better understanding amongst the clan members. Others, from Hausum Khel, encouraged that the two clans being from the same family, relationship and love among the two be preserved.

The grand occasion was chaired by Heuzwangbe, Chairman of Hausum Khel while the welcome address was delivered by Dichonbe C-Hau, Chairman of Poilwa Lui Nagaland. Ihangnoin, Deacon in Jalukie Town Baptist Church said the invocation while the vote of thanks was offered by Namkwa, Chairman of Poilwa Village Council.
