
Yakshu (Ukha), April 15 (MExN): Continuing its relentless pursuit of harnessing the renewable sources of clean and eco friendly green energy, 15 Border Roads Task Force in convergence with NePED successfully implemented its 3rd scheme of installing Hydroger for meeting the power requirements of its camps and detachments spread all over the remote areas of Nagaland.
The 3KW scheme for the BRO camp at Km 71 on Tuensang-Mon road, adjacent to village Yakshu was inaugurated on April 5 by the Advisor, NePED, Naiba Konyak in the presence of Col SP Yadava, Commander 15 BRTF, Officers of 100 RCC and all esteemed members of the civil administration, local village councils and the team members of NePED.
A press release stated that with the press of a button, three decades of darkness were illuminated up by the glittering LED lamps installed in more than 30 houses and huts belonging to the Border Roads detachment and labour camps. The camp at Km 71 was set up in early 80s and ever since was dependent upon hurricane lamps and candle light for illumination.
Naiba Konyak highlighted the initiative undertaken by the Border Roads in executing such schemes in convergence with NePED and complimented the dedication and efforts of the dynamic team members of NePED lead by Menukhol John, Team Leader, Commissioner and Secretary, Government of Nagaland which have now executed three schemes for the BRO (Khonoma, Poilwa and Ukha) within a short span of mere three months. He assured the BRO that NePED would ever be willing to take on other sites where ever the scope existed to harness the potential of the renewable sources of energy.
Col SP Yadava, in his vote of thanks appreciated the role of NePED and highlighted the tremendous scope of tapping the renewable sources of energy within the State and the excellent effort, dynamism, dedication and commitment of the NePED team who were effectively pursuing this cause and spreading smiles all over. He thanked the advisor for taking the pains to travel all the way and spend time with his troops and labours for such a noble endeavour and assured him that soon the 4th project at Botsa for one of the BRO camp would also be ready soon to tap the power from the Hydroger.
