‘I don’t want any bad blood’

Phek, May 24 (MExN): Seeking to lay to rest the matter raised by the Phek Government College Teachers’ Association (PGCTA), Dr. K Hoshi has made a final clarification in the interest of the students and for his “high esteem on those committed teachers to continue”.

In another rejoinder received here, Dr. Hoshi has assured that he “would have certainly approached them immediately for amicable solution irrespective of whether I was right or wrong” if he had known that “the PGCTA members were waiting for me for three days to settle the matter amicably”. Stating that his conscience would not have allowed him that students miss their classes for two days on his account, Dr. Hoshi declared that he himself ran a school and so understood how much students lose “in terms of acquiring knowledge” on a day’s class being cancelled.

While stating that he held no grudge against anyone for his son’s failure to get admitted at Phek Government College, Dr. Hoshi stated that he had, in fact, been asked by the Principal of the College to claim admission on grounds that he was “one of the landowners”. However, Dr. Hoshi stated, “I refused and told him that it may set a bad precedence for him.” He further informed that understanding “the human side of my problem and the local situation”, the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School had admitted his son, despite having the same constraints.

Stating that he didn’t want any bad blood between him and those teachers whom he held in high respect, Dr. Hoshi added that since his intention was very clear from the beginning, he would leave the matter to the wisdom of the PGCTA members.
