Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development, Zhaleo Rio, has iterated his poll campaign promises to look into the developmental needs of his Ghaspani –II assembly constituency in particular, and Dimapur district as a whole.
“Charity begins at home and likewise I will also fulfill my obligations and promises made during election time starting with my constituency and its people”, Zhaleo said told his supporters and NPF workers during a meeting-cum-picnic of NPF Ghaspani II A/C held at Land Resources Department Research farm, Rüzaphema village, on March 23.
Towards achieving his promises, Zhaleo sought continuous support, cooperation, prayer and guidance of NPF workers and public in general and admitted that as a human being prone to commit mistakes, he would need “collective wisdom.”
The parliamentary secretary also reminded that as an elected representative of the Nagaland Assembly, his works and interests cannot be confined to Ghaspani –II A/C alone and that the department of Urban Development which he was allotted portfolio should benefit other districts and constituencies.
Zhaleo, who is younger brother of chief minister Neiphiu Rio, also informed that both elected NPF representatives of Dimapur district have agreed to work tirelessly for the development of Dimapur district. On the occasion, he also thanked the party functionaries, especially the ticket committee for reposing faith in him by awarding the party ticket during the election and the NPF party and chief minister for allocating him an important portfolio.
Further, Zhaleo saluted his “friendly opponents” for their fair participation during the recently concluded assembly election. Among others, party workers and leaders including Kakiye Zhimomi, Keviyani Thepa, Nungpao delivered short speeches. Besides NPF workers from 5 Ghaspani-II, officials from Dimapur division and assembly constituency units were also present during the meeting.
