
Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): Training cum demonstration programme on ‘hygienic handling and value addition of fish and fishery products’ under NEH component was conducted by ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin, Kerala in collaboration with KVK Dimapur, ICAR Nagaland Centre, Medziphema from February 25 to 27 at the KVK.
Hands-on training on fish filleting and preparation of fish pickle, fish cutlet, fish fillet and solar drying of processed fish were demonstrated by Dr Sajesh VK, Scientist (Agri Extension), Extension Information and Statistics Division, along with the Senior Technical Assistant, Santhosh KP, EIS Division and K Dinesh Prabhu, Fish Processing Division, ICAR-CIFT. A press release from KVK Dimapur stated that a total number of 27 farmers attended the training programme. The training ended with the valedictory programme where Dr Sajesh also highlighted the technologies developed on quality system using conventional and frontier technologies to ensure fish production, processing and consumption. The chief guest of the programme, Dr DJ Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR Nagaland Centre stressed on the importance for scientific fish production, processing and value addition in Nagaland. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Ch Roben Singh i/c head, KVK Dimapur.
