IDAN enters into ‘simplified’ MoU with Manipal University

Kohima, December 6 (MExN): Following up on the earlier agreement with Manipal University, the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) entered into a “simplified” MoU for students from Nagaland to pursue paramedical studies at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) on December 5. The MoU was signed at IDAN Office Kohima, a DIPR report stated. 

Under the simplified MoU, a student from Nagaland availing admission under any of the 22 predefined courses in MAHE can claim 25% fee exemption within one month of availing admission at MAHE. Students can avail a certificate from IDAN post admission at MAHE for claiming the benefit as a student of origin from Nagaland. The 25% fee reduction will be applicable on the general fee structure published by MAHE year to year. 

Total of 220 seats are kept reserved for students from Nagaland under the MoU. MAHE will inform students and IDAN as and when 220 seat slots are filled up the against concessions. Details will be published in IDAN website for benefit of students & parents. MAHE will provide support to students to avail education loans. MAHE has informed that the concerned courses are approved by Govt of UK and EU, that students completing the courses need to undergo separate examinations to avail employment opportunities in the UK and other European countries. 

Incidentally, the best out-going student of MAHE for the academic year 2022-23, Dr Dziesebeinuo Khezie (PT) who is from Nagaland and working at Putuonuo Hospital conveyed her delight to engage with parents and students who may consider education at Manipal, to share her experience in the University.
