Nagaland’s Governor P.B. Acharya today said that the Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima where Astro Turf has been installed, will soon be equipped with floodlights and will host the prestigious Dr. T. Ao North East Football Tournament this year. In his address to the 3rd session of 13th NLA here today, Governor said that work on Dr T Ao Football Academy at Dimapur is being initiated which will go a long way in providing world class training avenues for our talented sportspersons.
He said that sports infrastructure facilities have been augmented by construction of outdoor stadiums at Pughoboto and Mon.
Further, he informed that Nagaland Sports Policy is also being finalised that will create a culture of sports from grassroots.
