Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): Leader of the newly formed Nagaland Progressive Alliance (NPA) I. Imkong today sounded the Centre on what he termed as “payments” that “are released without proper scrutiny of the bills” and that those persons found indulging in these illegal transactions minting the coffer of the State should be careful.
“Any person found indulging in this illegal transaction will be dealt with seriously”, Imkong stated in a press release issued by Rokovilie Chakhesang, his Press Secretary. Imkong and members of the NPA reportedly met more leaders in New Delhi today including Union Ministers, Sharad Pawar, Mani Shankar Aiyer and Santosh Mohan Dev and they were apprised of the present crisis in Nagaland. Imkong pointed out that whether Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has support in New Delhi or not, the central leadership “is not likely to be swayed by his opinion.”
He expressed confidence that the “unconstitutionality of the action of the Speaker would be recognized and therefore” appealed to the people of Nagaland not to be swayed by the cheap propaganda of Rio claiming that he has support in the UPA Government at the Centre.
“We believe in justice and fair play. Those cheap political gimmicks will be only temporary. Actions of justice will speak louder in due course of time”, Imkong stated while informing that the NPA was slated to meet more leaders in New Delhi including AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Union Defence Minister A.K. Anthony and Union Minister for External Affairs, Pranab Mukherjee.
