Zunheboto, September 16 (MExN): Taking into consideration the poor performances of government schools under Zunheboto district, the Sumi Hoho has constituted education committee with Y. Vihoshe Muru, vice president, Sumi Hoho as Convenor, Hokugha Sukhalu, Hokishe Kiba, Vihoto Jimo and President SKK as the members.
The first consultative meeting of the education committee with the principals of three Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSS) and headmasters/headmistress of 22 Government High Schools (GHS) was held on September 8 at Sumi-ki, informed a press release.
After deliberating on the poor results in the HSLC and HSSLC exams within the district, the Committee adopted some remedial steps. Among others, the committee resolved to depute one Sumi Hoho executive member and one SKK member to each and every GHSS and GHS to assist in implementation of various remedial steps adopted.
It was also resolved that both the subject teacher and student of subject topper will be acknowledged and headmaster/principals of GHSS/GHS which secure above 50% pass results will be awarded. Further, top 20 students from any school within Sumi inhabited area will be awarded. The Committee also resolved to approach and request the Department to assist the committee as and where necessary to carry out its resolutions.
