Kohima, October 6 (MExN):  In a first, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) informed that it would be resorting to ‘Indefinite Digital Protest’ from October 12 over State government alleged inaction on KPA issue. 

ANCSU has been demanding the State government to set up an Enquiry Commission to probe into the utilisation of funds at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA), Zunheboto. 

The Union in its letter to the State Chief Secretary on August 31 had demanded for setting up of an Enquiry Commission to probe into the fund utilization of Rs.3,71,60,000 for KPA under AICTE-NEQIP scheme within 30 days, the Union said in a statement on October 6. 

However, till date, the State government has remained passive, informed that statement issued by the ANCSU Vice President Inato Y Chisho and Education Secretary Keneitsituo Kense.

Strongly expressing its discontentment, the Union asserted that it “shall not remain silent when the welfare of the students’ fraternity is turned a blind eye.” 

However, the ANCSU said that as the State is strive towards rebuilding its economy and health care from the unprecedented global pandemic, the Union in no way wish to “sabotage the betterment of the state.”

Accordingly, the Union has decided undertake ‘Indefinite Digital Protest’ as the First Phase of agitation, it said. 

Indefinite e-mails would be sent to the email account of the government functionaries apart from indefinite calls, online poster campaign and other methods during the protest.

All e-mails and calls would be made requesting the state government to hear the genuine demand of the union, it added. 

The Union also informed all its units and well wishers to be prepared to participate in the proposed protest.
