Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): The Spear Corps of the Indian Army celebrated its 41st Raising Day at the Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur on February 4, marking over four decades of distinguished service, valour and commitment to the nation and the people of the North East.
The celebrations began with a wreath-laying ceremony to honour soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Army personnel and civil dignitaries paid homage to the fallen heroes whose courage continues to inspire generations of soldiers.
As part of the Raising Day observances, community-oriented activities were organised, including a medical camp for families, health screening for children, an organ donation pledge programme, and a blood donation camp at the Military Hospital, Dimapur.

HQ Spear Corps, raised on February 4, 1985, is responsible for security across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, including the international borders with China, Myanmar and Bangladesh, stated the press release received here.
Addressing the soldiers, Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, lauded all ranks for their professionalism, operational excellence and steadfast commitment. He highlighted the Corps’ role in safeguarding national security, maintaining peace in the region, and supporting civil authorities during emergencies, urging personnel to uphold the highest traditions of the Indian Army with honour, integrity and selfless devotion.
