Zunheboto, July 19 (MExN): A joint inspection of all the food business establishments was carried out in Zunheboto town on July 17.
The inspection team was led by Sukumlo Yanthan, Food Safety Officer assisted by Mongo, EAC, District Administration, Dr. Shikatoli Achumi and Shekho Sophie, District Media Officer, CMO office along with the police and IR.
Shekho Sophie, District Media Officer, CMO Office Zunheboto in a press release informed that food articles sold in contravention to Section 27 (2) clause (a), Section 27 (3) clause (b) of FSSA, 2006 and Section 2.2.2 (8), (9) of FSS Regulations (Packing and labeling), 2011 were seized in exercise of the power under Section 38 of the FSS Act, 2006 and receipt in Form II were issued to the FBOs as per Section 2.3.1 of FSS Rules, 2011.
The list of defaulting FBOs have been forwarded to the designated officer cum Chief Medical Officer Zunheboto for further necessary action.
DC Zunheboto Shanavas also informed that inspection will be carried from time to time for the safety of the public. He said that food safety is a growing concern globally and therefore, reminded that business need to limit the amount of time that potentially hazardous foods are kept under correct environment condition and food must be protected from contamination.
