Inspection for road widening project in Wokha

WOKHA, AUGUST 27 (MExN): A joint departmental site inspection in connection to a road widening project in Wokha will start in September.

A DIPR press release informed that the inspection will be carried by the Wokha District Administration and the state PWD (National Highways) beginning September 2 for the proposed “widening of existing single/intermediate lane road to 2 lane road from KM 83.00 to KM 101.00 on NH-61 (New-02).”

It cited the ADC Wokha as informing that the Minister of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has communicated the “Administrative Approval, technical approval & financial sanction for re-assessment” of damage to properties as a result of the project.

It sought the cooperation of the Village Councils of New Wokha Village, Koio village, Tsungiki village, Chukitong town and Thenhyan village in this regard.

The public of the stated places were further informed that the earlier damage assessment for structures likely to be affected by the proposed widening works from KM 83.000 (Hammock Resort) to KM 101.000 (Tsungiki village) “is to be considered null and void.” It said that this was necessitated “owing to certain modification made by the (MoRTH) with regard to the Right of Way (ROW) & Alignment of the Project.”
