Inter-school cultural dance competition showcases ‘Colours of India’

  As a curtain raiser to Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur 50th Anniversary Grand Finale, an Inter-School Cultural Dance Competition was organised on September 16, at the School Ground where 12 schools showcased the Colours of India through different indigenous folk - Bhangra, Nepali, Bihu, Zeliang, Ao and Phom dances. (Morung Photo)[/caption] Chandu Agarwal, Chairman of the Red Cross Society, Dimapur graced the occasion as the chief guest. The judges for the competition were Dr. H.Y. Chishi (Director, Indigenous Cultural Society), Oliver (Programme Officer, NEZCC) and Tiakumzuk Aier (Director, Dreamz Unlimited).   Pilgrim Higher Secondary School with their Bhangra performance took the top prize of Rs. 8000 and Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School, the second prize of Rs. 5000. The Best Costume went to Holy Cross Higher Secondary School and won a cash prize of Rs. 3000.
