IRCS Wokha Branch organises medical camp in Champang

Wokha, March 10 (MExN): A medical camp organised by Indian Red Cross Society, (IRCS) Wokha District Branch was held at Champang head quarter, under Bhandari sub division, with Deputy Commissioner and Chairman IRCS, Wokha Branch, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS as guest of honour on March 9.

Speaking at the launching programme, the DC Wokha lauded the IRCS, Wokha team for reaching the far flung and interior Champang areas with its health care services, to cater and provide health care and medical assistance to the general public. And people living with disabilities, old aged people and economically challenged villagers who find it difficult to go outside for health and medical attention, despite the concerned Medical department's best efforts to provide holistic health care towards the area, stated a DIPR report. 

Stressing that Bhandari is one of the most important sub-divisions of Wokha district with large geographical area, hot climatic conditions and with high number of villages and population, owing to which, some villages remain difficult to reach and access to, the DC appealed CMO Wokha, who was present in the camp, to continue provide health care machinery to the areas with focused priority.

He also stated that, Champang vicinity, being Dengue and Malaria prone area, community members should learn and avail the health care facilities given to them at their doorstep such as the present medical camp. 

DC & Chairman IRCS also urged CMO Wokha, to carry out Beneficiaries Identification System (BIS) drive pertaining to Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) in order to benefit people at the grassroot level.

Dr Zumomo Ovung, Secretary, IRCS Wokha Branch, who led the team thanked Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, for his support, encouragement and presence in the process of availing medical and health care services to the needful residents.
In the programme, Chairman, Champang Village Council stated that the area is in need of atleast one stationed doctor and requested the Medical department to do the necessity at the earliest.

Doctors and para-medical staff from CMO  Wokha head quarter and CHC Bhandari assisted in the one day Medical Camp whereby more than 150 health care and medical beneficiaries were given free health checkup and provided free medicine and medical facilities. In the programme, health care and livelihood relief materials were given to old and aged persons, People living with disabilities and to some other selected beneficiaries.
