Dimapur, Nov 22 (MExN): Peace Channel in collaboration with Development Association of Nagaland organized a three-day entrepreneurial skill-development programme for unemployed youths of Jalukie from November 19 to 22. The Director of DAN, Rev. Fr. Saji, was the chief guest. In his address he said that this training is God’s blessing to the people of Jalukie and ‘also was a dream of DAN to bring development through these youth and enable them to be independent.’ “Today, many youths while away their precious time, playing cards, caroms and gambling. Certainly they lack dream and vision” he said while urging them to keep on ‘cherishing their dreams’ even when they face hardships and failure. In fact this training should empower them to be motivated and committed to fulfill their aspirations, he added.
Also, Youth Director, Rev. Fr. C.P. Anto, in his speech said that youths are the ‘prime movers’ of the society. “If you are passionate and committed, you can bring hope to your family and society. For, you are highly potential, powerful and creative. Today peace and development is possible if the society meets the basic needs of the unemployed youth in each village” he said while asking ‘people of goodwill’ come forward to help the youths find their means to manage their lives and make the unemployed self-reliant.
Later, there was also held an exposure programme for the participants. At the end of the programme all participants resolved to start their own business in their respective villages. The programme came to an end with the valedictory function and an evaluation.
