Molungyimsen, January 31 (MExN): The two-day conference of the 75th Jangpetkong Senso Mungdang (JSM) concluded at Molungyimsen Village under Mokokchung district on January 31, with Nagaland’s Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba, as the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Temjenmenba highlighted Molungyimsen’s historical significance as the entry point of Christianity into the Naga community. He stressed the importance of upholding the legacy left by ancestors and urged the attendees to set achievable targets for the betterment of society.
Speaking on economic growth, he stated that the Jangpetkong range, along with two neighboring ranges in Mokokchung district, holds great potential. Citing research estimates of approximately 600 million metric tonnes of crude oil deposits in Nagaland, he noted that the highest concentration is located along these three ranges. To tap into this resource, he called for cohesive efforts with village councils taking a proactive role and adapting to modern developmental advancements.
Chuba Ozukum, Convenor of the Global Naga Forum and former President of the Naga Hoho, also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on socio-economic issues and the importance of shaping the future with the right perspective.
