Mokokchung, December 16 (MExN): Japu village, located under Mangkolemba sub-division of Mokokchung district, has undertaken the work to metal the approach road leading to the village with its own funds. “This 2 km road has never been black-topped and the poor quality of the road has been a serious inconvenience to the villagers,” stated a press release from Japu Senso Mungdang president, Noklemba Longshir. “The metalling work is expected to be completed by the end of December and the villagers are eagerly looking forward to this New Year present,” it added. The release mentioned that earlier in 2013, the segment of the road inside the village of around 2 km length was also metalled by the villagers with their own resources.
