JCC serves November 30 deadline to initiate repair of 4th Mile-Niuland road

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of Niuland Area Students' Union and Ato Area Students' Union has served a deadline of November 30, 2019 to the state government to initiate repair/renovation of the 4th Mile-Niuland road. 


In a representation addressed to the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Dimapur division, JCC convenor Yepeto Aye and co-convenor Hisaka H Kibami said the poor road condition of 4th Mile-Niuland has not only brought immeasurable inconvenience to the people but has also badly affect the economy. 


The JCC also reminded that it had apprised the government vide no NO.JCC/REP-NO.01/2019/01, NO.JCC/REP-NO.01/2019/02, JCC/MEMO-NO.01/2019/03 on the issue but till date no positive response have been received from the government.


While the state government is learnt to have sanctioned/earmarked fund for repair and renovation of the said road, the JCC said it is however yet to be implemented. 


In this connection, the JCC cautioned that should the department concerned fail to address the issue within the stipulated time as indicated, it shall as empowered by all the affected villages, impose indefinite bandh on vehicles bearing Government registered number and heavy vehicles. 


Any untoward incident which may occur out of it shall be held solely responsible by the department concerned, it added.
