JD (U) Nagaland given autonomy to forge post poll alliance

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 3 (MExN): The JD (U) Nagaland today informed that the party’s High Command has granted regional autonomy to the State unit to forge a post-poll alliance with any political party including NDPP and BJP according to the convenience of the state unit of JDU “in so far as it can serve the greater interest of the welfare of the people of Nagaland.” A press release from the JD (U) Nagaland President, Senchumo NSN Lotha also reiterated its stand to continue without having any pre-poll alliance “although some like-minded political parties are approaching to forge an alliance with JD (U).” So far, the JDU has received more than 25 applicants seeking for the party symbol, it informed. The JD (U) Nagaland said that it expects some more candidates but is determined to contest only in winnable constituencies so as to concentrate its resources and time.
