‘Jealous’ Therie out to pull down govt – NPF

Dimapur, Nov 3 (MExN): As expected, the NPF has reacted sharply to MLA K Therie’s attack on the NPF-led Dan coalition, and has asserted that he is only out to garner political mileage out of frustration and “jealousy” at Rio’s government.

The Government has never at any point of time vitiated its commitments in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP), the NPF stated through its Press Secretary R Paphino. Rather, “by all accounts” DAN has been “highly successful” in fulfilling the CMP commitments and the people have benefited from the projects and programmes implemented. “Therefore, to say that the DAN government has betrayed the CMP only indicates that the concerned person is not in touch with the reality of the present situation but only to gain political mileage with sinister designs” NPF opined on Therie’s attack.

In regard to the ‘Bedrock of Naga Society’ the NPF had this to drive its point: “Any political leader who speaks in defense fo the Bedrock of Naga Society cannot be accepted by the people or has the authority to speak on Naga politics. A leader cannot be so paradoxical as Mr Therie who speaks one thing yesterday and talking a completely different thing today for reasons best known to him thereby completely exposing himself and his true color”.  When the Congress as a party has refused to apologize to the Naga people for the booklet, and has failed to withdraw it as a serious mistake, it is ironical and most surprising that the person who was expelled from the Congress government “is stating it is a closed chapter”, the NPF added. On the matter of ‘equi-closeness, the NPF reiterated DAN’s commitment to the role of facilitator and affirmed to pursue it “despite the few voices of (dissent)”.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio received a pat from his party: “The DAN Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio lived up to more than the expectations of the people…the result of which can be easily seen and felt by the people that the situation/position is much better than before”. Unlike Therie who just brushed aside whatever good vision or constructive ideas put forward by Rio without least bothering to understand the whole concept just because “he (Therie) is losing ground on all fronts and he seems to be there only to create misunderstanding, confusion and trying to pull down the government at the slightest opportunity available due to his frustration and jealousy and nothing else specially after dropping him from the ministry”, the NPF added.
