
24 candidates score 100 percentile in JEE Main

S Nokzendi Aier was the topper from Nagaland in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020, while Ghunali M Kinny was the State’s female topper.
Nokzendi, a student of Maple Tree School, Dimapur, topped the Nagaland State with a score of 94.77.
“So proud to have the JEE State Topper from our school,” Maple Tree shared on its Facebook Page.
Ghunali, of Lhothavi Village in Dimapur, was topper among female candidates from Nagaland with 90.37 percentile score.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of JEE (Main) Paper-I Bachelor of Technology/ Bachelor of Engineering late Friday night.
While a total of 11.74 lakh candidates registered in both January and April/September-2020 exams, 10.23 lakh appeared the exam, NTA informed in a press release.
The April/September-2020 test was held from September 1 to 6 after being postponed on several occasions due to COVID-19.
The examination was conducted without any glitch in 660 Centres in 232 Cities including 8 outside India, it maintained.
Meanwhile, the release informed that a total of 24 candidates have scored 100 percentile score in the exam.
It included 8 students from Telangana; 5 from Delhi (NCT); 4 Rajasthan; 3 Andhra Pradesh; 2 Haryana; and 1 each from Gujarat and Maharashtra. Chukka Tanuja from Telangana was the sole female candidate with 100 percentile score.
The 2020 JEE cut-off for general category candidates in the common rank list (CRL) was 90. 3765335. It was 39.069601 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates and 50.1760245 for SC.
“The Ranks of the candidates have been decided taking into consideration better of the two NTA Scores of all candidates appeared in JEE (Main) JAN 2020 AND APRIL/SEPTEMBER 2020 examinations and in accordance with the policy already made available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in,” NTA said.
Meanwhile, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi) has begun the registration process for JEE (Advanced) 2020 from September 12 for the second and final leg to admission to 23 IITs. Only the top 2.5 lakh rank holders in JEE Main are eligible to apply for JEE (Advanced) till September 17 on the dictated website - jeeadv.ac.in.
