Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): The joint forum of the Nagaland GBs and DBs makes an appeal to all in concern, especially churches, to remain in prayer so that the ceasefire between the Naga factions would come to complete fruition. The Naga factions concluded a ceasefire agreement for six months on the 7th under the peace initiative of the Nagaland GBs Federation and Nagaland DBs’ Association. Making an allusion to the constant media war of the underground groups the joint forum also appealed to all in concern not to issue “press statements” which the forum said is proving to be a hindrance to the process of peace and unity.
The forum in a reflection on the historic agreement expressed happiness and appreciation to all who had contributed to realizing the ceasefire, hopefully a step towards permanent peace in the blood-torn state of Nagaland. “…all peace-loving Naga citizens supported us through prayer and in every possible means, out of which the clarion call for peace is turning out positive to a great extent today” a message of appreciation from the joint forum executives stated. The forum expresses gratitude to the Naga factions “for their great concern to avail Nagas stepping into a new chapter of unification in the days to come towards fulfillment of the aspirations and desires of the Naga people.” The Naga civil society and the public in general are thanked by the forum for their contribution to the peace initiative.
