Mon, April 9 (MExN): The Chenwetnyu Students’ Union in collaboration with Ching-Len Foundation, a non-profit NGO presented an art exhibition titled ‘A journey to the past’ at Chenwetnyu Village from April 1-5.
The art exhibition was first of its kind in Mon district, coinciding with the traditional Konyak Aolieng Festival. A total of 60 art pieces and paintings by various artists representing various genres of art and different mediums was put on display.
The exhibition included embroidery art by world record and Limca Book 0f Record holder for tread-work artistry, Arun Kumar Bajaj from Rajasthan, oil on canvas by Burmese artist Ang Ming from Mandalay. oil on canvas by Naga artist Miss K Cynthia Kolakhe from Delhi, charcoal sketches by Imo Imchen from Kohima and photos captured by Dutch photographer Peter Bos from the Netherlands.
The exhibition was inaugurated by BDO, Chen Block, Wakho Konyak. Visitors from neighbouring villages and tourists flocked to witness the exhibition.
