Jalukie, April 29 (MExN): The Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland (JSUN) has condemned the attack on Forest officials on duty at Ntangki National Park by people from one village. People numbering in hundreds had allegedly attacked the Forest officials, including Kenlumtatei, Forest ranger and Isaac, Forester with “machete and staffs”, according to a press release from JSUN President, Haizin Mpom and General Secretary, Pehiato Hingleu. Terming the incident as “murder attempt”, the students’ union has urged the government to expedite the investigation and book the accused under appropriate section of the law.
Reiterating the incident as first of its kind as in officials in uniform on duty were charged with deadly weapons for reason unknown, JSUN further expressed concern that “if such act continues with mere action the citizens and the life of the government employees will be at stake.” It asserted that such act should be condemned by every peace loving citizen and right thinkers should discourage such incident once and for all.
