JSUN & JPN picket GHSS Jalukie

DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): The Jalukie Students Union, Nagaland (JSUN) along with the Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) and Old Jalukie Village Council (OJVC) have imposed an indefinite bandh and picketed at the school premises of the Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie to show the resentment against the appointment of IV grade post to an “outsider despite the MoU signed between the Old Jalukie Village Council and the Government of Nagaland.”

A press note from the JSUN urged the concerned authority to comply with their demand i.e. to “revoke the appointment of one Kigum and appoint one Widunsu, a land owner candidate at the earliest to refrain from further turmoil and inconveniences upon the innocent students.”

The union today closed down the administration block of the school but exempted the classrooms and teaching staff. It meanwhile cautioned that the bandh will be intensified if the concerned department fails address their demand.

It further alleged that as per a letter addressed to the Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of School Education through the letter NO.ED/EST/GR-IV/APPT/DEO-PEREN/11-12/452, dated 23rd March 2017 “the appointment was done without prior intimation to the Head of Department and proper procedure.” It questioned as to who then approved the appointment “while there were other three candidates who applied for the said post through the proper channel.”
