Kalos Society shows good will gesture

Kalos Society, Pfutsero Town Baptist Church, Leshemi Women Welfare Society and concern farmers of Pfutsero Town shared vegetables and firewood to Bayavü Panchayat and COVID-19 Committee Bayavü ward in Kohima on June 1.

Donates vegetables and firewood to residents, frontline workers in Bayavü

As the fight to contain the spread of COVID-19 and total lockdown in the state capital Kohima continues, residents of Bayavü and frontline workers on duty under Bayavü area were blessed with organic vegetables and firewood donated by various societies and church from Pfütsero. 

Pfutsero Town Baptist Church, Kalos Society, Leshemi Women Welfare Society and the farmers of Pfütsero donated organic vegetables to the residents of Bayavü. 

Kalos Society, Pfütsero had donated firewood to the Hindu Society, Kohima for use at the crematorium for performing the last rites of the most needy and the unidentified victims of COVID-19.

The vegetables and firewood were distributed on June 2 morning after a short prayer by Pastor Mhonchumo S Lotha, KLBC Bayavü sector and brief thanksgiving programme held at Bayavü High School, Kohima by the Bayavü COVID Action Committee. 

Kalos Society director Kupelhi Losou told The Morung Express that around six varieties of vegetable (95 bags) including potato, cabbage, banana stem, some bags of plum and wild vegetables have been donated to the residents as a good will gesture. A thak of firewood have also been donated.

The distribution was done in coordination with Bayavü Area Panchayat and COVID-19 Action Committee Bayavü ward.

Meanwhile, Khinyi Woch, Chairman, Bayavü Area Panchayat informed that Bayavü Area Panchayat, Bayavü COVID- 19 Action Committee and residents of Bayavü were very grateful to Pfutsero Town Baptist Church, Kalos Society, Leshemi Women Welfare Society and the farmers of Pfütsero for generously donating organic vegetables to the residents of Bayavü and frontline workers.

“As we receive the blessings with thanksgiving to our Almighty God, it is our prayer that God continue to bless your people with good health and your land with fertility, that the yield not only brings economic profits to your people but also helps you continue your charitable works in the future,” Woch said.

He also informed that Kalos Society Pfütsero had donated firewood to the Hindu Society, Kohima for use at the crematorium, for performing the last rites of the most-needy and the unidentified. The Hindu Society through Pawan Ladha had expressed profound gratitude to the Kalos Society.
