Mon, October 23 (MExN): The 63rd Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB) Youth Convention was held from October 19 to 22 at Mission Centre, Mon under the theme ‘Youth for Christ and the Church.’ More than 2000 delegates from 114 churches attended the event, according to a press release.
Nyamto Wangsha, the outgoing principal of KHSS Mon and Yapang Longkumar, pastor, Covenant Baptist Church Dimapur were the main speakers. The convention had several competitions like painting, essay, scripture knowledge, quartet, Bible memory recitation with action etc., where the youth participated.
Singers like Mendan (finalist of Naga Hindi Voice), Threnon (Naga Orpheus Hunt finalist), and Langphong Hamnyei also performed during the convention.
Panel of discussion on the topic ‘Clean Election’ added flavor to the event, which concluded with a grand bike rally under the banner “I am the messenger of clean election”. The flag off service for the bike rally was held at Mon Theological College campus on October 23 at 7:30 am in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Mon. The rally started from Mission Centre and ended at Helipad, Mon.
The press release informed that Wangchah will remain as Youth Director of KBBB, but Jeiang and Naomi have to retire as they completed their tenures. Phaipa and Nyelei who were working as vice president and joint secretary have been promoted to president and general secretary respectively. Joseph and Eji Wangnyu have been inducted as vice president and joint secretary in the new team of office bearers for the tenure 2018-2019.
The 64th KBBB Youth Convention will be hosted by Chi Village.
