KDLSA holds consultative workshop

KOHIMA, August 25 (MExN): Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) held a consultative workshop with Juvenile Justice (JJ) stakeholders at DC conference hall, Kohima on August 25.  

Speaking on Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, Apila Sangtam, Panel Lawyer KDLSA highlighted on proper care, protection, development, treatment and social re-integration.  

She also apprised on important features, JJB, powers, functions and responsibilities of the board, Child Welfare Committee, procedures in relation to children in relation with law, rehabilitation and social integration under the act.  

Apila Sangtam informed that the Act categorizes child in conflict with law and child in need of care and protection.  

Experiences were shared by Khriehuzo, CWC Chairman, Pelemenuo, Probation Officer, Observation Home Kohima, Neinguvinuo Kulnu, CHILDLINE Kohima and Puvezo, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU).  

This was followed by an interactive session.
