Advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, R Tohanba, on Friday inaugurated Keyanrü Village under Chessore sub-division in Tuensang district.
The government recognized Yimchungrü village is a new settlement of Huker village and share borders with a couple of Sumi villages under Aghunato sub-division.
Congratulating Keyanrü villagers for establishing a new village, Tohanba establishment of a new village and getting government recognition is not an end in itself but the beginning of a long journey to build an ideal and permanent settlement for all villagers, irrespective of age or gender.
Stating that with increase in population setting up of new villages becomes a necessity; he however said the pioneers or founders of new villages should also keep in mind the immense responsibilities thrust upon them to lead the villagers to a better and more meaningful existence. Tohanba said the pioneers and village authorities should possess moral integrity, uprightness and truthfulness, to guide the villagers in the right path. Only when the villagers practice humbleness, tolerance and spirit of giving and sharing at home can they expect to earn respect from others, he said.
The Advisor also said the village authorities should not misuse the powers vested in them but work with all humbleness for the welfare and development of the village as a whole.
Tohanba said Keyanrü villagers are blessed as they have settled in one of the most fertile lands of the Yimchungrüs and with plenty of scopes to develop economic and social ties with neighbouring villages and tribes. He also conveyed gratitude to neighbouring Sumi villages for attending the celebration.
He further urged the villagers not to live in isolation but to develop and maintain harmonious and peaceful co-existence with neighbouring villages.
EAC Shamator, Limakhumla Pongener, on behalf of the district administration congratulated Keyanrü villagers for getting government recognition of the new village.
BDO Chessore, S Lakiumong, in his welcome address also gave a brief profile of the new village.
A host of elders and GBs including head GBs of Zheshemi and Ngozubomi (Sumi villages) and head GBs of Chessore, Huker, Kephor and Ayiponger villages and president, Yimchungrü Tribal Council, K Keozih, also greeted Keyanrü villagers on the occasion.
